Beth & Caroline Radford
Beth and Caroline are a mother- daughter duo from Snow Hill, NC. They are passionate about fashion and have always enjoyed shopping for quality pieces together. After teaching for 29 years in Greene County Schools, Beth decided the best way to spend her retirement would be for her and Caroline to begin a new adventure that would allow them to share their love for fashion with others. Thus, Monkee’s of Morehead City was born!
Beth learned from her mother at a young age that money was best spent on quality clothing and that no outfit is complete without the proper shoes and accessories! She took this to heart as she spent her summers driving her father’s tractor down long, dusty tobacco rows to earn money to buy fashionable outfits for the following school year, planning out how to maximize each piece to make as many outfits as possible. Beth has always loved boutique shopping where one can find quality merchandise with the latest styles.
She passed her love for fashion to Caroline as her mom did to her. As a young girl, Caroline’s dad would travel and sometimes bring her new outfits from other parts of the world. Caroline loved wearing these unique pieces that were so different from the clothes typically found in eastern North Carolina. Caroline had the pleasure of working at Monkee’s in Greenville, NC while attending East Carolina University. She enjoyed the relationships she made while working there and liked how it felt like people were shopping at a friend’s house. In March of 2020, when the country shut down due to Covid, Caroline relocated to the Crystal Coast. She loved the lifestyle and thought Morehead City would be a perfect place to open a Monkee’s.
Relationships and high standards are prioritized in Monkee’s business model, making it the perfect fit for Beth and Caroline. They both feel beyond blessed to have this opportunity to work together doing something they are passionate about and are excited to bring Monkee’s and the latest trends to Morehead City!
